A Hot Treat For Cooler Days

As summer turns to fall, stop by for Rococoa hot chocolate at the Ballard and Wallingford Farmers' Markets! It's very dark, rich, thick (but silky smooth) and as with everything I make...not overly sweet.

A Cool Treat for
Hot Days

On hot days there's nothing better than a ice cold smoothie...and when it comes from Rococoa it, of course, has to be chocolate. I make a Very Berry Iced Smoothie that's a blend of berry juices, infused green tea, organic soy milk and my blend of cocoa powders that makes a wonderfully thirst quenching delight. It's almost as thick as my hot cocoa and refreshes like nothing else you've ever tasted. It too is available at the Ballard and Wallingford Farmers Markets throughout the summer. It also lends itself surprisingly well as a mixer to a very wide variety of eau de vies and liqueurs, but to be honest my smoothie is pretty incredible all by itself.

A Little History

I never liked most chocolate cookies I tasted because they were either too sweet or too dry, and they never had enough chocolate to really satisfy me. So I decided that I had to make them for myself, a cookie that wasn't too sweet and yet would have a rich chocolate taste, chewy and enough toasted nuts and creamy chocolate chips in each and every bite. After years of gathering and trying different ingredients I came upon the right combination of flavors and texture.

It was after so many of my friends, and their friends as well, had told me how much they liked them that I decided to take them to the public. Even people who aren’t particularly crazy about chocolate have been surprised at just how much they like my cakes and cookies. I’ve taken my Rococoa cookies to ten of the finest restaurants in Seattle and the head chefs of all of them gave me an excellent review.

And so was born the Rococoa Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie!

 

Our Cookies

Rococoa chocolate cookies have delighted everyone who has tasted them. They are intensely chocolate without being overly sweet. Rococoa Cookies are made with all natural ingredients like fresh eggs, real butter, and a blend of cocoa that help give them their unique flavor.

I've also created an incredible dark chocolate flourless torte, so rich and yet so light, so decadent and it just melts in your mouth. The 9 inch tortes are made with 70% European bittersweet chocolate, whole eggs, real butter and a touch of heavy cream.

I’ve made them in a variety of all natural flavors, both with and without nuts. May I suggest that you eat them slowly while taking small bites so you can savor the initial blast of rich chocolate flavor with a secondary hit of pecan, orange, hazelnut, almond, coconut or coffee. And then you're bombarded with what seems like hundreds of after-tastes as it passes over your tongue, and just as you swallow it, another set of flavors hit you again. You’ll see what I mean. These are incredibly delicious and extremely complex tasting cookies. May I suggest eating my cookies with your favorite rice or soy beverage, milk, hot chocolate, coffee or tea, and they are remarkably delicious with dry red wine or port.

For a long time now, I have been looking for a "safe" alternative to sugar for my many 'want-to-be' customers who are either diabetic or want to restrict their sugar intake altogether. After years of searching and trying different sugar substitutes I finally came across what I feel is a safe alternative to sugar that really tastes like sugar and is a totally natural product that lives up to my high standard of quality and purity.

We now offer Rococoa® SUGAR-FREE chocolate cookies, the only chocolate cookies to be made with a new, safe and healthy sugar alternative called Sweet Perfection®. It's not an artificial sweetener but an all natural product, it's derived from chicory root and mung beans, has a value of '0' on the Glycemic Index, tastes just like sugar with no after-taste unlike so many other sweeteners. We have introduced the Sugar-Free cookies in three different flavors; Chocó d'Orange, Crème Coconut and Mocha Walnut. You won't believe that they're made without sugar.
